The Major’s Soiree

The Major’s Soiree has been a firm favourite at the Asylum Steampunk Festival for many years. The Major presents a number of star guests in a variety-style show including music and dance and just sometimes he can be persuaded to perform the ‘bear dance’ himself – if you don’t know what that it, you’d best come along and find out.

Who will be joining the Major on stage this year?
The Brass Brothers Steampunk’s brassier cousins of the Blues Brothers, Jacob and Elwood are sure to get your foot tapping to some familiar tunes with lyrics ‘adjusted’ (shall we say) to the Asylum audience. You will see why they are fast making a firm impression on the Steampunk scene.
Scarlet Butterfly never fails to amaze with her divine performances. An absolute favourite at the Asylum she is an essential part of the Soiree bringing elegance and beauty with seemingly effortless strength and skill. She has even been know to play around with fire too.
Madam Misfit’s music is a concoction of electroswing, dub step, funk and chaphop, all wrapped up with humour and pizzazz. She has been wooing Steampunk (and other) audiences around the UK for some while now, giving the (ahem) ‘gentlemen’ of chaphop a fair run for their money. We last saw her play a fine set at the Asylum Decodance in 2022 and can’t wait to hear her again at this years’ Major’s Soiree.
Major Blunder is a relative newcomer to steampunk stages but is already establishing himself as an audience favourite. His lyrics and performance are guaranteed to make you smile.
Gemini T & Libra V bring some magic and mystery to the show. Magic without no need for dark arts just talent and skill.
The Soiree is one of our three “Fringe” shows so is open to everyone over 14. (Under 14s at parental discretion but there may be some adult language). A wristband is not needed to attend.

You can find out more about the event on the Ministry of Steampunk website at  https://www.ministryofsteampunk.com/asylumsundayevening where the identity of the other acts who will be performing will be revealed very soon.
