The Decodance is a musical evening inspired by the music and fashions of the jazz age up to the 1950’s.
This year’s DecoDance will feature the incredible Retrobates who are an 8-piece vocal-fronted band who (like Postmodern Jukebox) specialise in performing hits from the 80’s to the present day in the vintage music styles of the 20’s up to the 60’s. They played the Grand Ball at the Asylum Steampunk Weekend last year last year and filled the dance floor for the whole of their set.
They are all consummate musicians and whether you want to get up and dance or sit back and listen to the music while enjoying a drink from the bar, you are sure to have a fabulous evening.
As for what to wear to the Decodance, the choice is entirely yours. The event forms part of the Asylum Steampunk Festival and some who are attending the festival will come along in steampunk or diespunk-inspired outfits, but many will attend in outfits which nod gently to any time between the 20”s and the 50’s. You can’t really go wrong.
Please join us for what promises to be a fabulous toe-tapping evening of retro-glamour and stylish music.
